Lauren Howe is a Toronto-based photographer working across portraiture, sport, fashion, commercial, wildlife, and fine art. She has been behind the camera for more than 15 years, developing a practice centered on storytelling, authenticity, and cinematic perspective.
Her path to photography is shaped by diverse experiences. Represented internationally by Elite Models, Lauren went on to be crowned Miss Universe Canada and placed Top 10 at Miss Universe 2017 before building a career as a TV host, actor, and sports broadcaster with the Toronto Maple Leafs. These years in front of the camera gave her an instinctive understanding of talent and teams on set, which now defines her work behind the lens.
Lauren has photographed across all seven continents, from Antarctica and the Arctic to the Galapagos, Indonesia, and India, including time learning under National Geographic’s Michael Melford in Svalbard. Her perspective is also grounded in sport, shaped by her background as a high-performance field hockey athlete and her work covering the stories around professional athletes.
Her debut fine art exhibition, Serendipity (Toronto, 2022), introduced her voice as a photographer and storyteller. Today, she continues to shoot internationally, creating work that bridges the commercial and the personal, the polished and the raw.
