Lauren Howe is a Toronto-based photographer working across portraiture, sport, wildlife, fashion, and fine art. Over 15 years behind the camera, she has developed a practice centered on storytelling, authenticity, and cinematic perspective.
Her background is unconventional. Crowned Miss Universe Canada and placed Top 10 at Miss Universe 2017, she went on to build a career as a TV host, actor, and sports broadcaster with the Toronto Maple Leafs. These years in front of the camera gave her an instinctive understanding of talent and presence on set, a skill that now shapes her work behind the lens.
She has photographed across all seven continents, from Antarctica and the Arctic to the Galapagos, Indonesia, and India. In Svalbard, she learned directly under National Geographic photographer Michael Melford. Her background as a high-performance field hockey athlete and her work covering professional sports has grounded her perspective in movement, tension, and the human story within competition.
Her debut fine art exhibition, Serendipity (Toronto, 2022), introduced her voice as a photographer. Today, she shoots internationally, creating work that bridges the commercial and the personal, the polished and the raw.
